Be kind and compassionate by cooperating with others and by being selfless. Try to be like God.
My mother would give a pricey gift at a wedding and she would expect the same value in return when she had a celebration. Mostly she would get disappointed as mostly people did not respond the way she liked them to be. Try to do things from the heart with no expectations, no strings attached.
Do things as you think needs to be done with no expectation of thanks or acknowledgement. It is hard but possible.
Being selfless is a journey.
Try to behave like God. He allows us to achieve the impossible.

Addiction to food
Meditate.
Search to satisfy the real inner hunger is Spirituality.
Before eating, we need to ask ourselves
Am I physically hungry.....
emotionally hungry..
spiritualy hungry?
Sometimes we eat to alleviate boredom, lonliness, depressed or celebration, party. This is comfort eating ( blame yourself after that because you were not hungry)
When we eat , we our mind gets relief from feeling the feelings. Then our intention goes on weight gain etc. It is a distraction from facing the real feelings.
Keep record of your feelings at different time of the day. Sometimes old family unresolved issues or patterns can trigger the old eating pattern.
Addiction to food is that our INNER CHILD WANT ATTENTION.
During the day, ask
What do I really want.
Will food give me what I want.
What Do I really want.
What is the real need.
Is this my spiritual/physical/emotional need?
Try giving up sugar.
Exercise.
Connect with other souls.

Awareness and Attitude
There is a direct relationship between awareness and attitude. Awareness means that you are aware that you are a peace loving soul born with all the basic qualities like happiness, love, will power,bliss. purity. If you remind to yourself few times a day, your attitude will change. Try doing that before meeting people that bug you. See it in your relationships? Apply it. Is it working? Try few times. Form a habit. Then it will be your routine This is a very simple and effective road to peace.

Sensitivity
Easily offended temperament or I am a victim attitude is when you feel pain again and again. Sensitivity is associated with low self esteem.
Whatever I wish to change outside, I need to change in myself to get the result.
Learn from your pain because of law of karma.
Accept it and develop a kindness/sympathetic relationship with yourself.
Accept responsibility for your karmas.
Forgive others and send positive vibrations to others. Let past be past.
Be unaffected by the pain of others. They have their karmas to deal with.

Build Inner Strength.
Your soul resides the the physical body. Create an atmosphere of warm and kind thoughts in your house and the choose the words carefully so all the souls living there( children, husband, wife) have a sense of belonging with a result same vibrations go to your mind. Keep a very (positive mind means)positive attitude and really watch what comes out of your mouth. It means words have to be positive and mind should get positive energy too. When will I get "Nirvana"
It is a common question people ask. I want Nirvana ( to be Enlightened) Mukti ( to come out of the cycle of rebirths) Peace ( a place of complete bliss, delight) in my life. Where can I get that. You can get that in God's house. There is a region beyond stars and moon where there is soul world. All souls used to live there before coming on Earth. It is a land of complete silence and stillness. It is a thoughtless stage. How do I get Nirvana? We are tired , fed up playing in this world that we want to get out of it by getting enlightened, or going to a place of complete bliss. Answer is Meditate with your mind and intellect( soul cannot come out of your body) Get the feeling of recharged and do it again and again. Join a group to connect with people who are on the same path. Meditate....meditate and meditate. It gives you temporary nirvana. According to Hinduism, you have to take rebirth 8400000 times , then you go back to God's house for complete bliss.

Alternate Nostril Breathing

To control your mind you must learn breathing exercises. Sit in a comfortable pose in a chair and your spine straight. Close right nostril by using thumb but inhale from the left nostril.Close the left nostril by using ring finger but exhale from the right by removing the thumb from it. Now inhale from the right , close right by using thumb and exhale from the left by removing middle finger from it......Keep on doing 10 of them everyday and then increase as you feel you are ready.
It balances the heat and coolness in the body.

We get what we give
It is a law that governs our interactions. We get what we give. To every Action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. To every happiness given, you will get happiness back in return. To every positive Karma, you will get positive karma. To every good thought and feeling, you will get to experience good thought and feeling in return. To every good intention, you will get back good intention back. CHOOSE INTENTIONS according to the EFFECT WE DESIRE. Whatever I experience now is the consequences of my previous thoughts/actions. It means I should take responsibility for all my actions. Whatever I give to people, I get it back. Whatever emotions I cause others to experience must become my own experience. Be compassionate and accept your shortcomings and move beyond them.

Apply Meditation in daily life.
We go into stillness and silence when we meditate. God cleanses your soul and your positive values come up (will bring you great joy and you will start to change too) with a result your third eye opens, means insight opens and you start to see others positivity no matter how negative they have been and no matter what they look like. You start to see them through God's eyes and you see them as your brothers and sisters. Third eye or your insight starts to create unity and friendship and belonging to others. Stepping into silence means connecting my mind to God who brings your positivity up or lift your consciousness. Your mind gets filled with love, compassion, peace, i.e change in your attitude, and vision towards others. Since your soul is pure, you reconsile with other souls. You do not hold grudges. You become a spiritual human being filled with love. If someone sends you any negativity, have a kind eye towards them. This is spirituality. Meditation means closeness to God so he empowers your soul. Closeness to God is Bliss. Bliss is internal. The more interconnected you are with others, more blissful you are.

Life long learners
I am a life long learner. I have my religion but I am always learning new thing as I visit my God almost everyday. He cleanses my soul, clear my inside garbage of hatred, tension, sorrow, teaches me knew things. Whatever I learn on my journey from him and his teachings, I am sharing with others.
You do not have to believe anything I say but try it. Try experiencing it. I am a Hindu and I have grown up with just doing without any explaining from my family. Now I am getting lot of explanations which I was lacking before because we are now living in the information age.
Try to understand and see if your mind and intellect agrees. Experience it and then form your impressions.
Give it a try. What harm it could do. You can always come back to your belief system.

Breathing Exercise----Shitkari
Shitkari produses cooling effect in the body.
Join the top and bottom teeth. Inhale through your teeth (while they are touching).

Kapalbhatti means that that the glow develops on the face after doing this breathing exercise.
Sit in a comfortable pose. Close your eyes to focus better.
Inhale once( only once and fill up your lungs) followed by 10 exhalations (with no neck movement) by squeezing abdominals. We are trying to get to the bottom of the lungs so that no stale air remains there after we finish exhaling.
Do two sets of 10 each(change according to body's need).
When done, sit in stillness and silence for 2 minutes while focusing in the middle of the eye. Sit as long as you need to, you feel light, renewed and positive.
Enjoy the moment again by doing everyday.

Silent treatment.
Sometimes you meet people who are unawarely hurt your feelings by putting you down, being condescending. They hardly know anything but they are flashing their BMW.... list goes on.
How to deal with them?
1. Give them silent treatment. God says " you are not alone, you have me"
2. Do not take your attention to them. Take your attention to your soul.
3. Be aware that you are a peace loving soul, repeat that to yourself few times before you meet that person again. You are creating powerful vibrations around you. With that your attitude change.
4. Now when you sit with them, they will get your vibrations. Give them the experience

How to live with Negativity
1. Do not give them your attention more than necessary. 2. Elevate yourself so much by giving the positive vibrations that their negativity rolls off you without affecting you. Remind yourself that God is with you and you are a peaceful soul. Do half minute meditation before meeting this person. It means their influence should not affect you. It will be very hard if you are not an enlightened soul. Lot of people get caught here. Try....it is doable. 3. Let others not be the director of your happiness and peace and love. Remember you are born with these qualities. They belong to you. 4. You have the knowledge, apply it at the right time, right place with right intentions. 5. People turn to spirituality when they hit the bottom. The day you say, I have had it. When you cry cry and do not know what to do, where to go. Spirituality is when you to focus inside, it means start to look for answers inside not outside. Happiness, love, peace is all within us. Do meditate. 6. I am a soul and your thoughts and action will be pure. Watch your intentions too. 7. When you meet other people, look at their good points. Do not focus on their bad points. Then you will enjoy meeting them and may be serving them with your knowledge 8. Be a role model for others. Do by showing with your actions, rather than talking about it. People will love to sit beside you for your positive vibrations and pure thoughts. Changing an attitude is a journey. It does not happen in one day. 9. God says follow me. Do it with your pure thoughts and actions. Try to be like God. Then you will be able to help others change too. 10. Remember people for their good points. 11. Do not always say that it should be this way or that way. Show your consideration first, then may be you could be a part of a solution. 12. Be careful what you say, how you say to people. 13. For negative people, develop detachment but be friends, do not let their thinking influence you. Just like water drop rolls off the petals of a flower without harming them. 14. Respect other souls as they are. They are on their journey. 15. Surround yourself with soul energy ( Who am I ) and let others experience these vibrations. 16. Do not keep repeating the hurtful event that happened. Practice silence. Silence also resolves issues. 17. Walk away from unnecessary conversations. Practice silence. 18. Lots of people are unhappy even after earning lots of money because they kept looking for happiness outside. People have lots of bad habits and negative thinking. Spiritual Intelligence
According to Brahma Kumaris You have the knowledge and you are a pure soul. But now you would know to use your knowledge at the right place, right time and right way and with right intentions. It is called Spiritual Intelligence. we had the knowledge but we did not know how to use it. If someone criticizes you, let them do because they they are criticizing your physical body not your inside soul. Apply your knowledge. Do not yell back. If you start to talk back or yell, that means you are not intelligent either because you did not use the intelligence but you had the knowledge.Be nice to him/her. Do not think bad about him in your mind either. Just say that he/she is a peaceful soul too. Try hard here to focus on his positives. Look for his positives right now. So we are changing, but he will receive our positive vibrations from us. He will change too. So empower your soul before you empower others. It is very very important for teachers to empowers themselves first before they empower the students. YOU CAN DO IT.

Is soul talking or body talking?
Think of your body as a car and then soul as your driver. Driver must be awake and drive the car

When communicating with the other person, if there is comfort in your communication and you are in awareness or in soul consciousness then qualities of soul will emerge which are love, peace, happiness and purity. Soul is doing the talking.
If you still look at their clothes, what car they drive, how big is his house, then you have not identified who you really are. Your body is talking.
Remember, you are an inner being, body is your car, whatever you do with it should bring you happiness, peace. If it is not there, you need to awaken your soul and realize that you are a soul.

Going within means meditate and practice stillness and silence. It means spend sometime with God who will fill cleanse the garbage that is accumulating in your mind.
It also means no greed, anger. We are all born with spirituality, but we have lot of negative thinking and bad habits too. Spirituality is a vast field. More deep you go in, more happiness you find. Sometimes when people are too negative, it may be hard for them to go inside and still the mind.

Change Habits

Due to some reason, we have one or two bad habits which we have learned from somewhere to survive in this negative world.
We learned it , same way we can unlearn it.
Meditate everyday to get strength from God to fight the habit. Send positive thought and positive intentions. Try withdrawing sometimes.

Yoga for the Mind
Mind is not physical. When soul does the job of thinking , it is called the "MIND".
Mind is always creating thoughts, positive and negative. Positive thoughts create positive attitude and negative thoughts create negative attitude.
Positive thoughts come with positive intentions and vice versa.
Every thought spreads into the atmosphere, it may bring result that day or some other day.
Positive intentions gives you positive energy. This energy or power should be used at the right place, right way with right intention.

Should I look for a Guru?
It was very hard for me to follow a Guru. On my journey of learning, I attended lectures by so many Gurus but somehow I felt that I needed to understand things in my head first.
As I understand that the job of the Guru is to help us connect with God by teach meditation to his followers. I could not renounce everything and go on mountains etc with him. But Guru is also a soul as I am. I learned meditation from here and there which helps me to connect with God to get energy and I cannot get energy from other souls. Guru is a soul too. There are so many places and people teaching meditation etc. Meditation is creating right kind of thoughts and channeling in the right direction. Meditation gives us the direct connection to God.
WE DO NOT NEED A GURU.
