EGO....................A big problem
Attachment to something you are not. People attach themselves to their position they had at one time or they have it now, or to the money they earn more than others , a million dollar home, BMW, Mercedes etc. All these things are given to enjoy. We know one day they are going to go one day. So we live in fear and we hold onto it so tightly. One day when you loose it you feel very bad.
Best is to make attachment to yourself...i.e make your physical body connect with your soul , then you have no fear of loosing yourself. This is what yoga is...Union with yourself.

Two way communication
Meditation is a two way communication, but prayer is a one way communication. Meditation is when God talks to you. Prayer is when you talk to the God. Be ready to listen to your God or your inner silence.

Third Eye
There is a third eye in the middle of your forehead. This invisible eye is where your pituatory gland is. If you focus( meditate) there , you will see a tunnel or an opening to see other dimensions of reality. It is your microscope and telescope to see details and to see long distance . It is a powerful center to focus on. Just place your feelings on the pituatory gland. Try focusing there.

Cuba Trip
Last year around this time, I went to Cuba. It was my first trip. My friends told me to take used clothes, soaps etc there to give to people. I was very happy to take those along to donate. We decided to visit locals there . As we were going through their residence area, we were asked to come in for coffee, they showed us their houses. I noticed that they were very happy despite owning very little. Ladies were sitting together in one house just chatting and making connection. Kids playing together after they were back from their school. I felt that happiness did not come from owning material stuff.
Yoga philosophy says to manage with less and not to be too attached to material stuff. Give more importance to the fulfilled life .

Garlic
I was watching Dr. Oz and he recommended sticking garlic clove in the ear and put a cellotape on to hold the garlic in place over the ear to get rid of ear infection. Guess what, I suggested to one person and it did work. He slept with the garlic and next day no infection. WOW.....HO HO for this remedy.
While growing up, my mother will let the garlic sit in warm mustard oil for few minutes and then pour few drops of oil in your both ears to get rid of infection.

Real listening
Our youth have learned very good communication skills, expressing their needs and wants. It is a very good thing for our youth. But sometimes we gain some and then we loose some too. Create Good Karmas
Respecting people as they are is a positive karma, positive thought and positive action. Respect the person as a soul. You are a soul and others are souls too. But souls have spots too. If you have not talked to your relative in 10-30 years, you must meet those people face to face to settle your karmic account. Accept their shouting or insulting when you see them. Just ignore
and let them say what they want to say. You did something before and now it is coming back to you. You are settling your karmic account and you want to finish them today.

Beautiful sunny day
Today was a beautiful sunny day. I decided to soak up the sun by doing the yard work and getting my hands into the dirt which helped me to ground my self and make connections with the mother earth. It is like letting mother earth soak up all your stresses and at the same time you soak up Sun energy which increases your hidden internal energy to recharge you. It was a wonderful way to celebrate Easter.

Apologize in your meditation
If you intentionally hurt someone or unintentionally and it is hard for you to apologize, just do that in your meditation. Sit comfortably on a cushion on the floor, keep your spine straight and chant "AUM" or "OM" do some breathing and bring that person into your meditation , apologize or send some loving energy to that person.
Try it one day and see what happens. You will be amazed at the results.

Too tired on Friday
Today I got home from work and I felt that the emotional stress had gone into my feet somehow after the car problems I had this morning. I decided to apply my Yoga technique by soaking my feet in hot bath with sea salt in it. Salt water diffuses the stress out of your body and you start fresh again.

Walk away from negativity
We are always making connections, forming new friendships. If after forming these new friendships you find that new friends are causing frictions in your life by insulting you , putting you down by elevating themselves or you have met someone who thinks he or she is MR KNOW IT ALL, using you to get what they want by using you as the middle person. You come home and think about that person for almost two days, you have to let that relationship go. May be that is too harsh a statement as we have so much around us that sometimes it is hard to walk away. Ask yourself " Are these friends/connections worth it". These relationships exhaust deplete and drain us. Friends are suppose to support you, elevate you , respect you the way they would like to be respected. You have to let go of these people. If you cannot let go of these friends or connections, then start working around them. Say you are walking and you see dog poo on the side road. Would you step on it or would you go around it? Obviously, you would go around it. Go head and start working around that relationship. Let us summarize it now. Three things you could do
1. Start to work around it
2. Keep your distance from them.
3. Walk away from negativity if it is possible and as quickly as you can. Sometimes it may take some time or you may have to change your behavior in the process to survive. It is really HARD WORK

Benefits of Meditation
10 minutes of meditation gives you 8 hours of good sleep. Just sit still by keeping spine straight and eyes closed and try not to think. If thoughts come into your mind, you do not interact with them , just observe them and let them go by your mind.

Kal Aaj Kal ( yesterday, today , tomorrow)
Time is a cycle. We have morning, afternoon, evening and night and then morning again. Do not be afraid of darkness(night). Light(daytime) will shine again. Kal Aaj Kal is the name of an another indian movie. It means yesterday today and tomorrow. Everything that has passed will come back. If you are going through a tough time, wait and light will shine. Your future today will be your past tomorrow.

Difference Between Prayer and Meditation
