Cannot loose weight.

No matter what I do cannot loose weight is what I hear all the time. We have tried weight loss diets, pills, .......name it, we have tried it. Sometimes we loose for a while and then back comes the weight.
Let us see this from yoga philosophy point of view now.
Yoga talks about body consciousness and soul consciousness. We are not trying to feed the soul here. Soul is made of mind, intellect and value system. Feeding the soul would be feeding the mind, intellect and value system.

We are here talking about the body. Think in terms of body consciousness now.

Is my weight because
I am feeding my body or my soul or my mind or my intellect? (Listen internally, try to do distinction)
Answer obviously is body.

When you eat, ask your body
What do you want to eat body?

Answer should come from your body.
Respect hunger but do not just eat anything.
You may eat lot of food and still not satisfied.
Eat what body is asking. I know it is hard for me, but I do try sometimes.

Body may be full, may not be asking anything.
May be you still want to eat because you feel like.
But food will go to body. Stop right there. Body does not want food.....................

If you eat now, will add pounds to your body. It is called comfort eating. Try to find what triggered comfort and find the right way to deal with it in future.


Make your decisions.

You can feed your mind with positive thoughts
You can feed your intellect with wise decisions
You may feed your value system with some good hobbies that you have or can go and learn few.
Go to the mall and walk, listen to music, take a nap, take a bath.
Ask yourself, What is the one thing you can do right now that would take your mind off eating?
What can we do without food.

Try reading section on " Silence" connecting your food thoughts to feeling, emotions,belief's,
Conscious, memory, personality traits. you may be able to connect to your habits and why.

I know it is not easy, may be we will fall few times, but get up and walk again.
